Meet
the Board
"Some
are not as mad as they look. And some... don’t seem as mad as they are."
Artistic
Director: Jeff Sachs
School of Communications
2013, Theatre and Psychology
Jeff first met William Shakespeare while sky diving in Belize. Since then, the two have been inseparable. They eat together, they bathe together, they even share the same cup of Mountain Dew® Baja Blast™. Jeff is a director, set designer, actor, gentleman, and scholar. His philosophy on life can best be summed up as "You can never have too many mottos.”
Secret Talent: Knows who really shot JFK, but is sworn to
secrecy
Production
Manager: David Griffin
School of Communications
2013, Theatre and Spanish
David Griffin is a lighting designer, producer and stage manager from Skokie, Illinois. His goal in life is to be a POKEMON MASTER. His starting pokémon would be Pikachu because he’d oversleep. David and Pikachu would be captured by Team Rocket and forced to lighting design pokéOperas until they escape through the power of friendship, at which point David would be united with his somehow identical twin sister who, disguised as a man, has been serving the Duke Orsino. After attending the wedding of his sister and the duke, David would become the leader of the Elite Four.
Secret Talent: Appears two feet to the left of where he
actually is
Business
Manager: Aaron Quick
School of Communications
2012, Performance Studies
Aaron is obsessed with movement. Movement of masked actors, movement of non-masked actors, movement of light, movement of sound waves, and most of all, movement of money. He spends most of his time moving, designing lights and sound, and managing accounts and equipment for StuCo. Once he graduates he hopes to find a living in some aspect of theatre, the question is what and how. Look for a new dinner theatre with a season in rep with breaks filled by his Commedia dell'Arte troupe.
Secret Talent: The more he enjoys a game, the worse he is; this is not the commander that poor Marine has been waitin' on
Technical
Director: Ady Dunk
School of
Communications
2014, Theatre; McCormick
School of Engineering, Engineering
Ady Dunk is a scientifically trained but theatrically minded sophomore hailing from outside Boston, where she began performing, directing, and designing in high school. Now far from small-town Massachusetts, Ady has tech-directed Eurydice, The Altruists, and Soup for Beast and has set-designed Thesmophorizusae as her formative first design at Northwestern. She aspires to set-design professionally after graduation, engineering for the stage in order to massively under-utilize her McCormick degree.
Secret Talent: Can correctly pronounce "ahrange"
Technical
Director: Alex Moe
Weinberg
College of Arts and Sciences 2012, Philosophy and Linguistics
Alex Moe spends more time involved with theatre than a non-major has a right to. His autumns are consumed by NUMB, the finest band in the whole damn land, and the rest of the year is usually spent recovering. He specializes in making things happen, solving problems, and StarCraft. In addition to TD duties, he is L&M's sysop and secretary.
Secret Talent: If you have a problem, if no one else can help,
and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... The Moe
Development
Director: Shannon Desmond
School of Communications
2013, Theatre
Although no longer a freshmen, Shannon is still best known for being the nerdiest member of the Northwestern Class of 2013 Facebook page. Her inquiries as to Greek translations proved to the world that she was born to be a Lover and a Madman. When she's not exploring the many meanings of the word development, she can be found stage managing, producing the newly-born Winter Shanley, and hanging out on the Norris couches when she should be in her office.
Secret Talent: Has experience equivalent to certification in hair styling
Stage
Management Director: Amalie Vega
School of
Communications 2014, Theatre
Amalie is an organized, intense, sock-loving person from California. She doesn't know why it snows so much here. She is not the -est anything on the University campus, but is indeed probably in the top ten most awkwardly organized people in the world. Were she not here, she would be figuring out how to reverse age herself so as to keep going to Shakespeare camp.
Special Talent: Is able to make anyone, whether she has known then for 10 years or 10 seconds, feel the most awkward they have ever felt in their lives
Publicity Director: Ashley
Thompson
School of
Communications
2013, Theatre
Ashley is pursuing a degree in housewifery, but this process may be delayed due to her involvement in the fairy world. It is not a secret that Ashley is next in line to the fairy throne of Neverland. If she is not found on the Norris couches, she is probably somewhere around the second star on the right trying hard to gain her fairy crown. She is a worker of the waters.
Secret Talent: Harbinger of superbabies
Outreach Director:
Ben Barker
School of
Communications 2013, Theatre
Ben Barker is a second-year student at Northwestern University. His handwriting is impeccable, and he shows up to meetings on a regular basis.
Secret Talent: Has yet to discover email
Inventory Manager: Meghan Stanton
School of Communications
2014
Meghan Stanton lives on a slowly sinking houseboat in the middle of Lake Michigan, where she keeps her weapons of choice: needles and thread (and all of L&M's swords). She is a great eater of beef, but it does not do harm to her wit. When she grows up, Meghan would like to be an evil dictator, or the proprietor of a coffee shop and bookstore.
Secret talent: Is not a blonde stage manager
Historian and Special Events
Chair: Julia Grigg
School of
Communications 2014
Julia Grigg is a lover of coffee and mad about baked goods. Her official favorite food is the lima bean, followed by the biscuits. Her spirit animal is the black bear. She dislikes bios.
Secret Talent: Animal metaphors
Dramaturg: Xander Tapling
Weinberg College of Arts
and Sciences 2013, Political Science and German
Xander has only slightly less right to spend as much time working on theatrical productions than The Moe. An elusive creature, he is known to be shy and quiet [Editor's Note: Patently false; fix before publication]. History nerd and trivia master extraordinaire, he now uses his powers for good as the L&M Dramaturg.
Secret Talent: Was Winston Churchill in his past life
Freshman Board Representative:
Andrew Hitzhusen
School of Communication
2015, Theatre
While constantly a foot shorter than his true height, Andrew has found a way to live with himself through the constant application of Shakespeare and nerdiness. He swears that he can stop at anytime. When he's not pining for his cat (of the non-Skittles variety), he finds time to gaze longingly at scripts and the occasional sword online. Someday, he'd like to be able accomplish his dream of challenging Thor to an arm wrestle.
Secret Talent: Able to speak Cat fluently in three dialects
Freshman Board Representative:
Megan Wines
School of Communication
2015, Theatre
Although the government seems to think her name is "Megan", Skittles prefers you call her...well, Skittles. She spends her falls frolicking around a football field with a trombone as a member of NUMB, and plans to frolic elsewhere in the not-NUMB seasons. She really likes playing with lights, as well as playing well with other humans (although has been known to bite sometimes, but no worries, not hard). As a child she aspired to be a cat, and she still has yet to give up that dream.
Secret Talent: Ribbon Racing
